An article i wrote just after the war in Iraq began.

SCENARIO 1:
POLICE ON THE DEFENSIVE.
It has recently come to the attention of the public that certain police officers in different regions throughout the country have been found guilty of using excessive force on the arrested.
Example: A man is overpowered and arrested for an offence. He has been handcuffed and is lying down on the street. Suddenly, a Police officer goes 'berserk' and starts kicking, screaming and punching this man. His colleagues had to step in to stop the attack...(No, this is not US, I mean in the Netherlands)
scene fades…….

SCENARIO 2:
WAR TALES
At a road block, somewhere in Iraq. a US soldier filled up with instructions about 'suicide bombers', soldiers dressed as civilians, women dressed as men, men dressed as women, Army Generals dressed as nomads (and the list goes on) sees a small civilian car, shouts HALT! from about a mile away, those in the car appear to have been afflicted with some form of deafness, blindness or maybe paralysis. In any case, they did not stop. The Soldier opens fire. Steps out of his tank to view the suicide bombers he had just executed and it turns out that they were two children and other civilians...
scene fades.…….

A United States tank on reconnaissance sees a suspect patrol in the distance. The colours appear to be those of coalition forces. They decide to play it safe and open fire all the same. A few of those in the patrol are hit, others come running out and waving at them. Once again, it looks like British soldiers in the distance, but you know the 'bl…...y terrorists' are so cunning. So, again, the US patrol fires...
scene fades.……

SCENARIO 3:
PROPAGANDA
We were told repeatedly that Sadam Hussein has links to Al-Queida and in addition is manufacturing Weapons of Mass Destruction. Till date, the coalition forces are still searching for these weapons which appear to have been hidden quite cunningly by the dictator.
Then there was the Iraqi Minister of Information who laughed away the news that the Saddam Hussein International Airport has been overtaken by the coalition forces.
"Impossible" he cries out. They are 'jokers' he claims whilst laughing away the allegations. To the comment that he looked 'afraid'. Absolutely not he says, "I am not afraid, and neither should you be"
scene fades.…….

FOR THE LOVE OF SADDAM

Day 12 (or thereabouts of the war in Iraq) Advert on Iraqi TV, showing the public that the Iraqi people still love their beloved leader and he was still in control.
Scene one, take one: Around 14 Iraqis, brandishing their ammunitions, sing praises of their leader and pour scorn on the British and the Americans. It is obvious to all watching that these people are truly representative of the entire Iraqi population and that their praise songs are from the heart...
scene fades.…..

SCENARIO 4:
COLLATERAL DAMAGE
a. An Iraqi hospital showing (Ali) A 7 year old, whose arms have been blown off during an attack on enemy installations.
b. Various hospitals without even the most basic of medicine.
c. Women and children shaking and shivering with fear whilst been searched my coalition forces.
d. Looting on a humongous scale, even of hospital equipment.
e. Several private homes are destroyed in air raids and missile attacks on what appeared to be 'hostile' or 'suspect' areas.
f. Market bombs killing several and injuring others.
